About Ankit Parikh

Dr. Ankit Parikh joined the Heart Institute in 2015. He is originally from Kingston, New York, and received his B.A. from New York University with a dual major in Chemistry and Psychology. He continued on at NYU for medical school where he earned his M.D. degree. Dr. Parikh remained at NYU for his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine, and was selected to a Chief Resident position there. Dr. Parikh subsequently moved to Atlanta, Georgia, for fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease at Emory University. During his fellowship, Dr. Parikh completed advanced training in echocardiography to support emerging structural and valvular heart disease interventions, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement and percutaneous mitral valve repair.

Dr. Parikh practices general cardiology, with interests in coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and preventive cardiology. He specializes in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging including stress testing, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular ultrasound. Dr. Parikh has also authored several publications related to cardiovascular epidemiology, hypertension, heart failure, and cardiac resynchronization therapy. His research has been presented at national and international conferences including those held by the American Heart Association, American Society of Hypertension, Society of General Internal Medicine, Heart Failure Society of America, American Society of Echocardiography, and European Heart Rhythm Association.
